Brief Introduction
The Center for Risk Management, Process Safety, and Loss Prevention at Petroleum University of Technology was established with the aim of creating a national and specialized authority in the field of process safety and reducing operational risks in the oil, gas, refining, and petrochemical industries.
One of the Center’s primary missions is to establish scientific and operational infrastructure for the systematic analysis of hazards, safety performance monitoring, equipment integrity management, and implementation of standardized process safety management systems based on international frameworks such as CCPS, OSHA, and API, as well as the requirements of the Ministry of Petroleum.
Drawing on leading experts from academia and industry, the Center serves as a consultative arm of the Ministry of Petroleum in the field of process safety and is committed to providing practical, scientific, and data-driven solutions to prevent accidents, reduce operational risks, and enhance production sustainability.

The Center for Risk Management, Process Safety, and Loss Prevention at Petroleum University of Technology was established with the aim of creating a national and specialized authority in the field of process safety and reducing operational risks in the oil, gas, refining, and petrochemical industries. The Center is founded on in-depth academic knowledge and extensive industrial experience and seeks to play an effective role in enhancing safety culture and reducing losses resulting from process incidents through the development of applied research, targeted training, independent audits, and professional consulting services.
Missions
The Center for Risk Management, Process Safety, and Loss Prevention at Petroleum University of Technology is tasked with leveraging specialized knowledge, applied research, data-driven monitoring, targeted training, and professional services to contribute to improving process safety, reducing operational risks, preventing accidents and losses, developing specialized workforce capabilities, and strengthening the safety culture across the oil industry. The Center will also serve as the scientific and advisory arm of the Ministry of Petroleum in the field of comprehensive Process Safety Management (PSM).
01Vision
Desired Position of the Center Within the Next Five Years The Center will become the national authority for risk management and process safety in the oil industry, aligned with international standards and recognized as the country's leading institution in the development of safety guidelines, safety monitoring, specialized training, data analysis, and implementation of preventive projects.
It will also serve as the official reference of the Ministry of Petroleum for decision-making, technical consulting, and process-incident management.02Values

The Center will operate as the specialized arm of the Ministry of Petroleum in the field of Process Safety Management (PSM) and will be established organizationally under the direct supervision of the President of Petroleum University of Technology.
The Strategic Council of the Center will consist of members of the HSE Managers' Council of the Ministry of Petroleum, the President of Petroleum University of Technology, and the Director of the Center. The Council will be responsible for policy-making, approval of programs, and evaluation of the Center's performance.04
